On Heart’s Edge

Over 30 years ago, Hugh and Marty Downey went to Africa for "a couple of years." They were captured - not by guerrillas of fanatics - but by the gentleness and kindness of the African people. Their experience turned into a lifetime commitment leading them into civil wars, famine and tragic personal hardship.

Faced with unbelievable difficulties, most people would have give up. But challenged by a seemingly impossible task, this couple fought overwhelming odds and succeeded in accomplishments that escaped giant international aid organizations.

A "Passion for Africa" is written into this thriller as it weaves a web of intrigue and mystique not experienced by outsiders. They have created the "World's Smallest International Relief Agecny"... LALMBA - "a place of hope."
